How lines are compared
The comparison uses exact lines, including spaces and letter case. Windows and Unix line endings are normalised. A changed line can appear as one removal and one addition; this tool does not highlight individual words inside a line.
Useful for everyday revisions
Compare email drafts, notes, plain-text exports and small code snippets. Formatting from Word or rich-text editors is not compared. Repeated lines can have more than one valid alignment.
Private and bounded
Each text is limited to 400 lines and 50,000 characters so comparison stays responsive. Text stays in the current page; it is neither uploaded nor saved by the tool. Clear the fields when you finish on a shared device.
